Senior Consultant Job Description
SSI Strategy, LLC (SSI) is seeking skilled management consultants with experience working with Biotech/Pharma/Life Science and or other healthcare related specialties. Experience with emerging biotech preferred but not required.

Through partnering with our Medical Subject Matter Experts, our business consultants have the opportunity to make meaningful impacts on the clinical trajectory, medical launch strategies, and post-launch tactics for our client’s emerging innovative therapies.
Industry Orientation
Candidates should have relevant consulting experience with a preferred focus on areas that include pharma, biotech, and/or healthcare. Life sciences experience within the functions supporting a Chief Medical Officer (e.g. Medical Affairs, Clinical, Safety) are a plus. Strategy and Program Management experience required. Other required experience includes client engagement, project planning, project management, and strategic planning. Candidates will be expected to collaborate closely with clinicians, therefore experience working with medical professionals/clinicians will also be valued.

Functional Qualifications
Candidates must be self-starters with proven individual contributor and leadership skills. Mental agility and the ability to learn quickly in dynamic environments are paramount. A consistent pattern of taking on new challenges and working outside of one’s comfort zone is required.
- 2-10 years of experience in the healthcare or Life Sciences industries in at least one of the following areas: research, clinical development, pharmacovigilance, regulatory, medical affairs, patient services or related areas (CROs), delivery systems, payers, health technology companies, etc.
- Versatile and consistent consulting experience solving big challenges and doing so on time and on budget
Other Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree in Science, Biomedical Engineering, Healthcare, Business or related course of study, or other relevant advanced degree/PhD
- Strategy/ management consulting experience is required, or 4 plus years of relevant Life Science Industry (Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Specialty Pharma and/or Medical Technology) or Nice to Have: Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas as it pertains to life sciences: product planning and development; medical planning; clinical development strategy development; franchise & business unit strategy; corporate strategy; regulatory & compliance.
For More Senior Levels:
- 2 plus years of experience managing the activities of a project team including workplan, staffing, deadlines scope and budget
- Demonstrated success supervising, coaching and mentoring more junior level staff and ownership and guidance of their career development.
- Authorized to work for any US employer without sponsorship.
